Sen-Fi's 2023 IEM Tier List

Before the year ends I created this tier list for fun and wanted to categorize the IEMs I reviewed, auditioned, and owned. DISCLAIMER: Anything on this tier list is subjective. You can refer below to how I logically categorize some of the IEMs on this list This list is not the "one true tier list" or the "gospel". Geez, I'm not that much of an expert and what's good for you may not be good for others, vice versa. I'm basically doing this for fun, I currently have an issue on my right ear so I won't be doing some reviews for a while. Everything on the list is tried and tested, I won't include anything I haven't tested. I won't put description on every IEMs on the list unless I have to justify it. VE Monk Plus : The Budget Earbud King

  • Fun energetic bass
  • Thick, smooth mids
  • Good separation
  • Budget-level pricetag

Cons: 
  • Recessed vocals
  • Can be fatiguing 
  • Treble lacks air 


INTRO

The VE Monks are a pair that left the audio community impressed due to it's scaling capabilities that depend upon the source of the user. It may sound unimpressive to very impressive, however, the reputation of these buds left a good impression overall to the audio community.

The VE Monks are a pair housed in an MX500 Shell along with a 64 Ohm 15.4mm driver which can be drived easily with a smartphone. The cables looks surprisingly durable unlike the thinner ones on a Qian25 and Vido . In the market there are several variations of VE Monks out there and some are even hard to find. The most common in the market are the Smoke Edition and the PH Edition, the rarer ones are from DROP (Piano Black), Royal Purple, Espresso, Red, and Blue.
Let's head to the sound of these Monks.

SOUND

Lows : Lows on the earbuds department usually cannot match against the lows you experience from an IEM but these Monks can overpower or go on par with an IEMs lows which is my initial impression on it. It is fun and energetic compared to other earbuds.

Mids : Mids are warm and not muddy but somehow lacking. Vocals can be recessed on some tracks.

Highs: Can be fatiguing and piercing for long periods of listening so be mindful of your volume levels. Despite the Monks giving fatigue and piercing feeling after long sessions, good news is that it does not have any sibilance.

Is it good for gaming?

Yes, it's pretty immersive. If you are playing battle royale you will be surprised how accurate footsteps are.

Good for backup pair?
Of course! For $5, you can buy as many pairs as you want.

It also has different colors available on Shopee, be careful with overpriced Monks though. Some local resellers are selling these Monks at 2-5x the retail price. I would suggest our overseas resellers on Shopee like girftu.ph , fengru.ph, and of course VE Clan itself just recently established their own Shopee Page.
