Welcome to Sen-Fi Reviews Blogspot. I started reviewing earphones because I find writing fun, and it tests my abilities as a writer while listening to music. Doing things I love, I began to write reviews whenever I stumble upon new earphones gears to give my viewers an idea before buying something. CVJ Stepless : A Stepping Stone for Budget Listeners?
Pros:
- It has decent sound for the price
- It has a pouch, a rare case for ultra-budget earphones
- Comfortable to wear
- Midrange are surprisingly good
Cons:
- Microphonics
- Bass lacks energy
DISCLAIMER!
- I would like to thank CVJ for providing me with this unit
- I received no monetary compensation during and after this review, I mean, come on, this is a budget earphone, what else do they have to gain from paying me for this lol
- As usual this will be an honest and unbiased review
PACKAGING:
Hey! For the packaging, it's very generous to have a pouch and beautiful anime art on the box. Still, it's very minimal and having a pouch is already a plus for ultra-budget earphones. Unlike some companies I know hehe.
- 3 pair of silicone eartips
- Pouch
- Warranty cards and manuals
SOUND:
I'll make this review as simple and as concise as possible. The Stepless' performance goes way beyond its price, believe me. Stepless is the most balanced ultra-budget earbud in this segment.
BASS:
The bass is just right for the price. It's not perfect, but it's not flawed either. For starters, the bass on the CVJ Stepless is already good enough compared to other generic earphones that lie somewhere in Stepless' offering. The focus is more on the mid-bass; the attack and decay are slow; it doesn't have that much impact, but it doesn't sound flat and boring.
MIDS:
For me this is the star of the show. For the price of $5, yes that's right, for that price, the mids are outstanding and clean. Some vocal tracks may sound thin and harsh to higher-pitched vocals. It still has a few hiccups in the resolution, but this is the best midrange in this price range.
TREBLE:
Treble is also outstanding, it is crisp, clean, and has a good amount of air. We are talking about an ultra-budget earphone here, yet the performance is better than I expected.
TECHNICALITIES:
Soundstage is average. It exhibited good width but less expansion in the depth. Layering separation is also average. It is hard to retrieve micro-details with these pairs, some sound in the frequency overshadows one over the other.
FINAL RATING
If you are a budding enjoyer of earphones and quality music, I would highly recommend the CVJ Stepless for you. It's also a plus if you like the comfort of bullet-style IEMs. For the price of $5, the overall sound of Stepless is something worth taking note of. It stands out among the rest within its price range. Of course, you need to set your expectations that it won't be able to beat the likes of IEMs in the sub-$10 budget range. However, consider Stepless a stepping stone to high quality listening.
