Sen-Fi's 2023 IEM Tier List

Before the year ends I created this tier list for fun and wanted to categorize the IEMs I reviewed, auditioned, and owned. DISCLAIMER: Anything on this tier list is subjective. You can refer below to how I logically categorize some of the IEMs on this list This list is not the "one true tier list" or the "gospel". Geez, I'm not that much of an expert and what's good for you may not be good for others, vice versa. I'm basically doing this for fun, I currently have an issue on my right ear so I won't be doing some reviews for a while. Everything on the list is tried and tested, I won't include anything I haven't tested. I won't put description on every IEMs on the list unless I have to justify it. HAKUGEI Joyful Voice : The Swiss Knife Of Cables

Hakugei is a company based in China known to manufacture premium and robust cables. Today, we are going to review the Hakugei Joyful Voice.

This unit is provided by Hakugei and Kent Aldriann Alfonso for a short and quick review of the Hakugei Joyful Voice. I am not connected to any company or organization, and I was not compensated for writing this review. As usual, this will be an honest and unbiased review.

Material






The Hakugei Joyful Voice is a 3-Litz hybrid shielded cable. The main structure is a hybrid of gold plated OCC, litz 6N OCC, and litz silver-plated OCC. The sleeve and alloy splitter and pin has a silver hue and feels really soft and premium to the touch compared to other shielded cables. It also does not pill like other cheap shielded cables where overtime you'll see small bumps accumulating on the sleeve. The lenght of the cables are around 1.25 meters, which is sufficient and not long enough. The connector I have is 0.78 pin, perfect to most IEMs in the market right now, they also offer MMCX, and the dreaded QDC (just kidding!) 

The Plugs Are Modular!


One good thing to note in this cable is that this is modular! This means, you are privileged to swap between 3.5mm, 4.4mm balances, and 2.5mm balanced terminations. They also have a Lightning and Type-C termination however you have to pay an additional for these bundle. 

CONCLUSION:


The Hakugei Joyful Voice is a great, sleek, and flexible hybrid cable. It is definitely a personal favorite, the Joyful Voice is like a swiss knife of cables enabling you to switch from earphone jacks to smartphone connectors (type-c and lightning). It is very reliable for any audio enthusiasts alike. It is very stylish, especially the silver color option, it is a neutral color so it combines well for any color. Personally, I use a gray BQEYZ Topaz and it looks very sexy. The build is robust, and sophisticated so I could definitely recommend this. It is also the cheapest of Hakugei's offering starting with around $69. If you want to experience true premium cables, the Joyful Voice is the best cable I suggest.

Pros:

  • Modular
  • Soft yet robust build
  • Color options are great
  • Cheapest Hakugei cable that offers more flexibility than some of their top-of-the-line cables
  • Silver color pairs aesthetically great on most earphones since it has a neutral color, combining it for aesthetic purposes is great

Cons:

  • Although this is the most affordable cable from Hakugei, price may not be for everyone
  • For sure this will be prone to stains
